No doubt that buying 2nd hand games is a good deal for the customer, but selling by selling old games is not. I got about $20 for Fallout 3 and Saints Row (PS3) in my local Blocbuster. Before the economic crisis they payed considerably more.. And that can have some negative effects because it makes people keep their old games.. And wait for the retailers to drop prices instead.
this article needs to be approved, think many of the comments are spot on..
Well.. As I see it, its a product, and they have to meet their specific customers demands. They earn money by advertising, the more readers / hits the more lucrative advertising deals. Lets presume that EDGE´s biggest segment is Xbox 360 owners, so companies who deal with Xbox 360 products will like to advertise in their magazine because of their reader base. If EDGE starts praising PS3, Wii or PC games, maybe some of the readers will be offended (the hole fanboy war) and stop reading th...
A review can never be objective. Its pure based on his personal experience and cognitive attitudes. The only thing that can come close to objective is quantitative studies, and since the study becomes affected by the studier. There are no thing such as "objectivity" (Hawthorne experiment)
Besides I you like and enjoy the game, other peoples or reviewers opinion should matter anything.
LOL.. Thats was funny, Its a joke.. Onion is a sketch-show, they made a movie last year "onion movie" about a news station, quite funny as well. Btw, there are no chance in **** that this could be released without Sonys approval, it would be slandering :P
Thats quite funny.. Glad to see that there still are some humour left.
Dont think there is a much difference in the trash-talk on PSN or LIVE. Got both systems and I always mute everybody (got both consoles)
I cant find it either. (PS3 EU version) So maybe its been pulled again.
Don’t understand why he is getting all the disagrees? He is completely right. Its business 1 on 1. Every company is spending a lot of money preventing their competitors getting their inside knowledge. So Micrsosoft or Sony or Nintendo properly don’t know anything about each other’s future price strategies. It’s pure speculation. And “Joe public” can’t use this kind of information to anything. I’m hitting the agree button.
its REALLY good. Think both consoles owners are going to enjoy this game.. And its all english in the demo, and there are online/offline Co-Op to (in the demo)
I just got an Xbox 360 - So I guess that I a little part of the numbers, but I have the PS3 since release, but since they dropped the price quite a bit, I think I can afford to raise above the console war and just enjoy the games.
Still think that the PS3 is more spectacular, but cant play Gears on that one..
Right until your computer dies on you.. :( My IBM laptop died on me for the second time now. Backup isn't any good because its the only machine that support NFTS.
So personally I don't think that ddl is the future, and MS is going to fail on that one, because we are creatures of habits. and a new science rapport showed that consumers preferred disks over downloaded material.
Glad to see that I'm not the only one who share this point of view.
Marketing calls it cognitive differnce = as long we are in doubt of our buy we wont be able to enjoy it - So we point out the flaws on the alternative, so we can rest assure we made the right buy. The people who never can rest assure is turned into fanboys or the people who feel such a commitment to the brand that they become rabel fans. And both side contribute to the competition of the consoles, but it have to be dra...
Darkseider: I agree with your point on advertising money, but I dont think its only Microsoft.
Activision got a reviewer fired on gamesport (I think) over Kayne and Lynch because he gave it a bad score, and Activision said that they would stop the advertising, so basically the reviewers will favor the console who´s game they are currently advertising for - but they STILL have to do it in disguise because if the site gets a reputation as biased, then they loose hits, if they loose ...
Well.. I recieved a e-mail that the games was shipped, so tomorrow I will enjoy a maybe inferior version of Fallout 3, but as long its not Splinter Cell: Double Agent ( if any remember ) inferior, its not inferior in my eyes
I had almost settled with the fact that the PS3-version was a complete mess, because of all the trash-blogs, even though some on my friendlist bought it, and said it looked fine.. still..
I just ordered it, and should get it tomorrow - I have lost all believe in gaming journalism. Its all about politics now :(
USA, Europe and Asia is in the middle of the biggest financial crisis since the stock-meltdown in 1920 (in US) of course the consoles will sell less because everybody is worried about the future. The PS3 is a "luxurious" product and a lot more expensive than the Wii and Xbox 360 - So people will save a lot more now.. EA is firing people, that can be a indication that the gaming marked is shrinking because of the crisis.
From the comments below the review and alot of comments on the official forum - it sounds like the Xbox 360 of the game is having alot of problems with gliching and loading textures. Haven´t read people saying the same with the PS3 version, but it have a mandatory install on 3000 MB, maybe the new dashboard update is a welcome thing for Xbox Sandbox games..
Im getting it on the PS3 btw
Well.. This put a different aspect to the gaming industry and what people finds important - it isn´t all about console war and framedrops, there are real people behind, with real problems.
except EA - they secretly attempt to conquer the world..
(couldn't´t be all that serious)
yeah.. Im seriously starting to consider this game, its look like that they are paying attention to the details.. Nice
